Toyota Prius
2003-2009
2003-2009
The period between 2003 and 2009 is commonly called the 2nd generation for Prius. During this time the size of the Prius grew a little to make it just a little larger than a Toyota Corolla. Along with the size of car the mile per gallon (mpg) increased to 46 combined city/highway. The 2nd generation Prius has a 1.3 kWh battery with 28 individual cells. Each cell is roughly around 7.2 volt 6.5 amp hour. Right now a new battery from Toyota for a 2nd generation Prius costs $3300, not including tax and installation. Because of our reconditioning process we’re able to bring our batteries back to that 6.5 amp hour rating for a fraction of the cost of a new battery and without needlessly having to throw away the good cells in the battery. An Atypical Battery for the 2003-2009 Prius is $1199.99 with installation.
2010-2015

Toyota also introduced more aluminum to the body and frame to reduce weight. The focus on wind resistance and weight raised the mpg to 48 combined city/highway. The 3rd generation Prius also has a 1.3 kWh battery with 28 individual cells. Each cell is roughly around 7.2 volt 6.5 amp hour. Currently the cost of a new hybrid battery from the dealer is $3,938 before tax and installation. An Atypical Battery for the 2010-2015 Prius is $1599.99 with installation.
